Bastani obtained his PhD at Uppsala University and is currently an Associate Professor in Economics, Linnaeus University, Sweden. He is also affiliated with the Linnaeus University Centre for Discrimination and Integration Studies, the Uppsala Center for Fiscal Studies, the Uppsala Center for Labor Studies and the CESifo Research Network in Munich, Germany. Bastani has worked extensively on topics related to the optimal taxation of labor and capital income. He is also an active participant in the policy sphere, providing advice to policymakers about desirable ways to design tax systems.

Professor at Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka, Head of Department of Finance and Banking and Coordinator of doctoral study program in Economics and Business Economics. Her field of interest is tax system and policy. Leadership in different projects (Ministry of Science, Education and Sports / University of Rijeka / the Croatian Science Foundation / CERGE-EI). Also teaching at Faculty of Economics, University of Split and Faculty of Administration, University of Ljubljana. 

Deputy Director of the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department. Before joining the IMF, he was Professor of Economics at the University of Essex and visiting Professor at Kyoto University. He was awarded the Holland Medal of the National Tax Association in 2018, the CESifo-IIPF Musgrave prize in 2010. He is an Honorary President of the International Institute of Public Finance. He has led technical assistance missions to over thirty countries, and is co-author of books on The Modern VAT; the Taxation of Petroleum and Minerals; and Changing Customs.

Adviser in Monetary and Economic Department of the BIS, with responsibilities for global macroeconomic monitoring, research on macro-financial stability frameworks, and meetings of Governors from Small Open Economies. Head of Macroeconomic Analysis (2011–18) and Emerging Markets (2010–11). Before joining the BIS, Dubravko was economist and senior economist in the Fiscal Affairs, European and Asian Departments of the IMF (1990–99), and researcher at the Economics Institute Zagreb (1982–89). Obtained PhD at the University of Pittsburgh, MA at the University of Minnesota and BA at the University of Zagreb. 

Professor at Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb and associate at Faculty of Organization and Informatics and Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb. His field of interest are public finances, fiscal policy and taxation. He is PI for Croatian Science Foundation research project “Public Finance Sustainability on the path to the Monetary Union”. He is editorial board member of journals Public Sector Economics and Ekonomski pregled. He is member of International Institute of Public Finance, Croatan Economic Association and referee in different national and international journals.

Researcher at the Institute of Public Finance, Zagreb. His primary topics of research are in the fields of microsimulation of taxes and benefits, measurement of fiscal incidence and distributive impact of the tax-benefit system. Obtained his PhD from the University of Ljubljana. Member of the EUROMOD national team for Croatia since 2013. His research has been published in public finance academic journals.
